Natural Hair---- Like? Dislike?

Ok, so during the summer, I've been trying this technique called the 'braidout'. I was informed about this technique by my little sister, who happens to be a hair fanatic (maybe more than a fanatic). Anyway, with the braidout you can create the natural look that everyone seems to be rocking these days. The best part of the braid out is the fact that you're using no heat, and there is no sort of hair manipulation whatsoever... yeah that good. I mean naturally it is not my hair but I do pull off the look right?
What inspired me to write this? --- I just received my December issue of Glamour and there's an article called 'Why everyone is going natural'- As in : no straightening, no heat. Did I mention that your hair almost seem transformed after doing the braidout technique for a while; because there is no manipulation and no heat, which by the way means there is no breakage of the hair; so because there is no manipulation the hair looks healthier and thicker.
And you have to love the fact that there are less salon trips, hello less spending of your money, we could definitely use that as college students. I will outline basic steps below, you should try, even if it is for one week.

Step 1 - Wash hair as you regularly would, using shampoo and conditioner.

Step 2 - After hair is washed, you can either keep it damp or dry all the way; I prefer mine wet.
If you do choose to dry hair then moisten with conditioner.

Step 3 - Then part hair into about 6 sections and braid them tightly. To hold them in place you either use rubber bands or flexy rods; If I were you I would go with the flexy rods since they are safer. Then tie hair overnight.

Step 4 - Finally in the morning, loose braids and voila! you have a curly braidout, the natural look.

This is very easy, saves you some money and it can be styled as you desire. TRY IT! Read more...
